Kentucky basketball and coach Mark Pope landed Malachi Moreno, and many expect Jasper Johnson to follow next week. However, they aren’t sitting back and waiting. Mikel Brown Jr, another top 2025 recruit, will be heading to Lexington for a visit.
Brown is a 6’3″, 165 point guard out of Florida, and is considered a five-star recruit. He is currently ranked as the number eight overall player in the 2025 class by 247sports, and the number two point guard.

Kentucky offered Brown back in June, but hadn’t set up an official visit. That has now changed, according to Kentucky Sports Radio, who is reporting that Brown will visit Lexington September 27th to the 29th.
Pope and Kentucky are waiting on some key decisions, but they can’t afford to be complacent. Brown is a terrific player, and regardless of what happens with other recruits, he would be a very good addition to the Wildcats roster.
