Last month, we ran through some of the notable NFL players who could switch up their jersey numbers — based on what they said on social media — after the league relaxed the rules about who could wear which digits (which, in turn, ticked off Tom Brady).
So far, the changes have trickled in, so we’re putting together a running list of switches made as the NFL offseason continues after the draft. A reminder: anyone who makes this switch will have to buy out the jerseys with their old number on it, so that might be why some players haven’t changed things up. But they might make the switch in 2022!
Per NFL rules, if a player wants to change his number THIS SEASON, he would have to buy out the existing inventory of jersey distributors.
If he wants to give notice now to change his number NEXT SEASON, there would be no requirement to buy out inventory. https://t.co/XvduiMgSw3
