It seemed obvious that Rob Gronkowski would end up in a WWE ring at some point after his retirement from the NFL after spending his entire, incredible career with the New England Patriots. He’s always a huge wrestling fan, of course.
Per a report from WWE on FOX’s Ryan Satin, Gronk is “close to finalizing” a contract with the pro wrestling organization. That’s super exciting for both NFL fans and WWE die-hards who would love to see the man known for his outsized personality and giant body (he was 6-foot-6 and 258 pounds in his playing days) take on opponents.
But it wouldn’t be the first time he wrestled.
Back in 2017, he was in the crowd for WrestleMania 33, and during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, he helped his buddy Mojo Rawley win after he got into it with Jinder Mahal. What a moment that was!
Gronkowski got him back for that beer throw at a later event:
Hasn't @JinderMahal learned by now? When @RobGronkowski is at ringside, don't poke the PATRIOT! #SDLive @MojoRawleyWWE pic.twitter.com/zaOZ9E26c2

Whatever Gronk does with the WWE, it’s going to be so good.
