A Michigan TD was questionably overturned before TCU’s fumble recovery, and fans got so mad

Was this really not a touchdown???

Oof. This one really hurt for Michigan in the Wolverines’ College Football Semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl.

Le’s break it down: With Michigan down 14-3 in the second quarter, J.J. McCarthy hit Roman Wilson for a 50-yard pass that appeared to be a touchdown as the receiver hit the ground. But replay showed that Wilson’s backside and/or knee hit before he got into the end zone. And college rules mean that he’s down.

Instead of a touchdown, Michigan was at TCU’s 1-yard line … and Kalel Mullings fumbled on the very next play to turn the ball over.
