A mic’d up Budda Baker couldn’t believe D.K. Metcalf chased him down

Budda Baker thought he had a pick-six.

Sunday night’s NFC West showdown between the Seahawks and Cardinals was the best game of Week 7, highlighted by a spectacular defensive recovery from Seattle wide receiver D.K. Metcalf to prevent an Arizona touchdown.

Up 13-7 in the second quarter, the Seahawks had a golden chance to extend their lead with a 1st-and-goal from the three-yard line, but Russell Wilson floated a pass to the goal line that was jumped and intercepted by Cardinals safety Budda Baker.

Baker had a clear lane down the sideline to convert the pick-six untouched, but Metcalf used his unreal speed to track down Baker and tackle him inside the 10.

Metcalf’s tackle was a huge play, as the Seattle defense responded with a goal-line stand, and the Cardinals turned the ball over on downs after failing to convert a 4th-and-goal from the three.

Baker was mic’d up for the game, and couldn’t believe he was caught.

“How’d he catch my [expletive]? What the [expletive]?!”

Baker gave Metcalf a shoutout on Twitter after the Cardinals pulled out a 37-34 victory in overtime.
