The Philadelphia Eagles were already dipping into their quarterback depth chart on Sunday with Jalen Hurts missing the game against the Dallas Cowboys, and with backup Kenny Pickett suffering an injury early in a 41-7 blowout win for the Eagles, third-stringer Tanner McKee got his opportunity.
McKee made the most of it, finding receiver A.J. Brown for what was the first touchdown in his two-year career. However, instead of saving the ball for McKee, Brown threw it to a fan in the stands without thinking about it.
Though McKee ultimately got his ball back, it made for a hilariously moment between him and Brown which was captured on the sidelines thanks to both players being mic’d up.
“No! Did he really?” McKee said when told Brown threw the ball into the stands. “I got family over there, so maybe they got it.”
Brown went to retrieve the ball and bring it back to McKee, apologizing profusely.
“I launched it. I’m sorry!” Brown told McKee.

Sunday was McKee’s first appearance in an NFL game, and he completed three of four passes for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns. And now, despite Brown’s moment of carelessness, he has the game ball from his first time finding paydirt.
