It’s Monday, so as we do from time to time to kick off the week, we’re giving you a horrendous bad beat from the weekend of football action.
This one is a doozy, mostly because of the recent NFL rule changes that made it possible for a team to return an extra point attempt to the end zone for two points.
The Kansas City Chiefs were up 38-9 with 39 second left in the fourth quarter against the visiting Oakland Raiders, who had just scored a touchdown and were attempting the PAT. But the Chiefs blocked it and took the ball the distance for a 40-9 lead.
But the over/under for the game hovered somewhere around 49. So either bettors ended up with a push or a loss instead of a win that was all but secured had the Raiders nailed the extra point.
Ugh.
Over/Under in Chiefs-Raiders opened at 54.5. Got bet down to 49.5.
If you teased it down to 48.5 and took the over, this meaningless end-of-game blocked PAT got returned by Charvarius Ward cashed for you! 💰💰💰pic.twitter.com/wDwt8JTomC

With :39 seconds left in the game, the Raiders scored a TD but had the XP blocked!
The game was out of hand, however the Chiefs housed the block for 2 points to bring the score to 40-9.
49 total points.
The over/under was 49 😬 https://t.co/WqPa1Op8NJ
