Dimensional Ink Studios, the studio behind DC Universe Online, is working on a Marvel MMO.
As first spotted by Eurogamer and Twitch content creator Miller, it seems that an MMO based on Marvel Comics heroes is in development at the Austin, Texas-based studio. Enad Global 7, the parent company of Dimensional Ink Studios, published its Q3 2021 financials that listed a “New MMO utilizing Marvel IP” on a list of upcoming projects.
The development of this Marvel MMO is being led by Jack Emmert, one of the key creative minds behind the classic superhero MMO City of Heroes. Emmert also currently serves as the lead on DC Universe Online, so it seems Dimensional Ink Studios have the right talent behind whatever this Marvel game materializes into.
EG7 (DCUO/Everquest devs' parent company) released their Q3 '21 financials, and confirmed the unannounced AAA Marvel MMO that appeared in the GeForce Now leak and which had previously been cancelled in 2018 as the studio faced financial hardships has officially been REVIVED!! https://t.co/ho2gZcipa5 pic.twitter.com/jjVlMLHn1u

Nothing else is known about the Marvel MMO at this time, as it has yet to receive a proper announcement. You probably shouldn’t get too excited about this game yet, though, as the financials report says this one is a “longer-term” project. Basically, a fancy way of saying it probably won’t materialize until 2023 as the earliest!
Given how poorly received Marvel’s Avengers was, it’s probably for the best that Dimensional Ink Studios keeps this one in the oven until it’s good and ready. We don’t need any additional Battlefield 2042 or GTA Trilogy situations, frankly.
