A major Kentucky recruiting target came for a visit on Thursday

Guard Jasper Johnson took an unofficial visit with Kentucky basketball on Thursday.

Class of 2025 recruit Jasper Johnson recently put Kentucky in his final five schools, which excited Kentucky basketball fans. On Thursday, he took an unofficial visit to Lexington, per Kentucky Sports Radio.

Johnson is the number ten overall player in the 2025 class according to the 247sports composite rankings. He’s the number two ranked shooting guard, and the number three player out of Georgia, where he will play for Overtime Elite.

Mark Pope has prioritized landing in-state recruits, and though Johnson plays elsewhere, he is from the Bluegrass State, and his dad played football for the Wildcats. He is one of Pope’s most sought after players, and would be a tremendous addition to the roster.

Johnson is expected to make a decision sometime in August. North Carolina and Alabama are both heavily involved in his recruitment, and the Tarheels are considered the favorite by some. However, Pope is sure to have used Thursday’s visit to try and change that.
