The Oklahoma Sooners look to move to 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in Big 12 play on Saturday as they get set to take on the undefeated TCU Horned Frogs. The Sooners are 17-5 all-time against TCU in the history of the matchup, according to Winsipedia.
The Sooners have won eight straight against the Horned Frogs and are 10-1 since TCU joined the Big 12. Five of the last six wins for the Sooners have come by more than 18 points, including the 2017 Big 12 championship game.
It will be a matchup featuring new head coaches for both squads. Venables got off to a strong start in 2022 before a setback vs. Kansas State. New TCU Head Coach Sonny Dykes has had to manage a quarterback competition and an injury to Chandler Morris, which thrust Max Duggan back into the starting role.
Last year’s matchup featured the first start of Caleb Williams’ career. Williams was electric, going 18 of 23 for 295 yards and four touchdowns through the air. He added 66 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown to help the Sooners win by 21 points at home. It was a critical win coming off of an emotional Red River Showdown comeback.
It will be a different test for the Sooners this season as they look to bounce back from their disappointing loss to Kansas State. To help get you ready for Saturday, take a look back at some of the best photos from Oklahoma vs. TCU since 2012.
