Before the Warriors face the Lakers in the play-in tournament, Warriors Wire looked at Steph Curry’s numbers against L.A. from the 2002-21 regular season.

On Sunday, Steph Curry put an exclamation point on the end of the 2020-21 season with a fiery 46 point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies to seal the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference play-in tournament.

The seven-time All-Star guard notched 30 or more points in 21 of his last 24 games to earn the 2020-21 scoring title with 32 points per game on 48.2% shooting from the field.

Despite winning six consecutive games to end the season, Curry and the Warriors still have to go through the defending champs for a shot at the postseason. On Wednesday, the Warriors will meet the Los Angeles Lakers in the play-in tournament to decide the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference.

Despite scoring 30 or more points in 38 games over the course of the season, Curry recorded a high of 27 points in three contests against the Lakers in 2020-21. With a 1-2 record for the Warriors against the Lakers this season, including a pair of ugly blowouts, Curry averaged 23 points on 34.6% shooting from the field and 34.6% from deep in 30.1 minutes per contest.

To move past LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers on Wednesday, the Warriors will need to count on a charged performance from Curry in Hollywood. However, it won’t be easy with the Lakers boasting the league’s top defense.

Before Wednesday’s play-in contest, here is a look at Curry’s numbers in three games against the Lakers from the 2020-21 season.
