If you’ve ever played golf then chances are you know how things can go so wrong during a round that you wished you never got in your car that day and headed to the course.
It happens to pros, too, apparently because Phil Mickelson had a reaction to a poor shot during his first round of the U.S. Open that all of us hackers can relate to.
Mickelson’s opening round at Winged Foot has been a wild one. He started with back-to-back birdies but then had four bogeys over the next six holes. His drives have been mostly dreadful and he’s spent a lot of time in the really bad rough.
On the par-5 ninth hole he hit an approach shot that went way left and as the ball sailed away he said “I’m so sick of this.”
Classic Phil:

Phil did get a little lucky on the shot as it went so far left that it landed on the tee box of the first hole so he had a good lie and was able to make par on the hole.
So yeah, the Phil Mickelson Experience is a fun one today at Winged Foot.
