There are many times in sports that remind me that I’m glad I don’t bet on games anymore.
That happened again Monday night in such incredible fashion at the end of the Seahawks-Eagles game… because WOW, this was something.
The Eagles were underdogs at home by 6.5 points. Trailing by 14 points with less than 15 seconds to play in the game, Carson Wentz lofted a Hail Mary into the end zone. The ball deflected off a receiver’s hands and was caught one-handed by Eagles tight end Richard Rodgers as he fell to the ground.
That touchdown made it an 8-point game with 12 seconds left. But then instead of kicking an extra point the Eagles for some reason went for two points and got it.
That led to a six-point loss for the Eagles and a really bad night for anyone who bet on the Seahawks to cover the spread.
Check out this final play:
Bad Beat Hall of Fame. The Eagles covert a 32-yard Hail Mary, with a one handed grab off a carom and follow it with a pointless two-point conversion to cover (+6.5)@WayOfWeeks took the Seahawks

Here’s the two-point conversion:
Well, that was significant to some. #Eagles (+6.5) convert the two-point conversion to make it a six point game at the end of the game against #Seahawks. pic.twitter.com/PAz8DXXhkc

Scott Van Pelt nailed it:
The Seahawks beat the Eagles 23-17, with Philadelphia getting a Hail Mary TD in the final seconds.
Seattle was favored by 6.5 points.

I’d hate to be this person:
One bettor had $500,000 on the Seahawks -6.5.
I can't imagine losing like that.
Final score: Seattle 23, Philadelphia 17

Gamblers were stunned:
Had the Hawks -6.5 so naturally the Eagles opt to try a pointless two-point conversion and get it.

Crazy bad beat to the -6.5. Like I said on the podcast today that spread just felt shaky but, lets be honest, why do the Eagles go for 2 there? How do they catch a hail mary?
Under on that 48 points 🤑🎲

Did the Eagles go for 2 to cover the spread?

Just a bad, bad beat for Seahawks bettors. Was on the right side for once but Eagles had no business covering that spread.
