Roster cut-downs are occurring over the next few days, as NFL teams release players to get under the 53 player limit. One early casualty is former Kentucky wide receiver Josh Ali, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons.
While at Kentucky, Ali was a key member of the Wildcats from 2017 to 2021. During his time in Lexington, he caught 131 passes for a total of 1,447 yards and 8 touchdowns. He also returned punts, scoring a touchdown there as well.

Ali went undrafted in 2022, but signed with the Falcons as a free agent. In his two seasons with Atlanta, he saw action in just two games, but didn’t record any receptions. An injury cut his 2023 season short.
A talented player, Ali has the potential to contribute somewhere. After the cut-downs, there’s a chance that a team will add him, or that he’ll join a team after an injury occurs. He could also be brought back as a practice squad player. Big Blue Nation wishes him the best of luck moving forward.
