The TV broadcasts for soccer matches have done fairly well with their ability to superimpose fans into seats at empty stadiums. The production team is also adding fan noise to get rid of the eerie silence.
But one real fan provided a hilarious reminder of what it’s like to have soccer in front of an audience. Even with the stadium supposedly empty for Barcelona’s 4-0 win over Mallorca, a fan managed to get onto the pitch, where he ran around — and for a moment, it was almost as if the world wasn’t managing the novel coronavirus pandemic. Then, of course, the announcers wondered how the security would handle the transgressor while maintaining social distancing and the reality set back in.
Here’s a look at the moment.
How did a fan get on the pitch when there is no fans allowed in the stadium!?!?!? 🤔😂 pic.twitter.com/XJwNphshtV
