A determined Joey Chestnut walking into the Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest has become a meme

A new Joey Chestnut meme is everywhere.

First, the 2023 Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest was on.

Then, it wasn’t.

But then it seemed like Joey Chestnut and his fellow pro eaters were determined to get it to happen. And then it was on and Chestnut won.

There’s a photo of what I think is that in-between moment, of Chestnut walking in, looking determined either to make sure this annual July 4 event went down or just to scarf down dozens of hot dogs.
