A complete power ranking of LSU’s 2024 uniform combinations

LSU donned several different uniform combinations in 2024. Here’s a complete power ranking.

LSU donned six different uniform combinations in 2024. LSU mixed up more than usual this fall, a decision that drew mixed reactions from the fanbase that appreciated the more traditional look.

While the Tigers don’t create as many kits as schools like Oregon, they mixed in diverse combinations that had the fanbase guessing what would be next.

One that came by surprise was the new gold tops debuted against Vanderbilt on November 23. In its second to last game of the 2024 season, the Tigers paired the new threads with white helmets and pants as they defeated the Commodores 24-17 in Death Valley.

Fans speculated about when the team would reprise a gold top of this sort since 2016, which was the last time LSU wore something similar. The team donned mustard yellow jerseys against Mississippi State that year. This year marks the fifth time the Tigers ever wore gold jerseys. The other three instances took place in the mid to late 90s.

Here is a ranking of LSU’s best uniform combinations of the 2024 season:

We don’t see this one as much as we used to.

LSU wore gold helmets and pants along with purple tops for a single game in 2024.

The Tigers defeated the Bruins 34-17 in what was a close contest at half that led to boos raining down in Death Valley. While the kit reflects the entirety of LSU’s color scheme, it can be hard on the eyes and messy if you’re outside of the Tiger fanbase. It strays from LSU’s tradition of wearing white at home and should be eliminated, though it has served as the Tigers’ main home alternate.

A color rush kit for every football team, collegiate or professional, is becoming more regular.

LSU used its iteration with all white against Texas A&M and Arkansas. Tiger fans may never want to see this kit again as it brings back memories of a second-half meltdown in College Station that can be blamed for continued miscues on both sides of the ball in the following games.

The Tigers fell in line with most teams in college football by donning white on the road in both contests.

A splash of color puts this uniform combination above the white rush, coupled with the debut of a new gold top.

LSU revived the old-time staple for a win over Vanderbilt in its second to last regular season game. The top, in particular, is what fans speculated about for years. Now that they finally saw the latest iteration, are they satisfied? And will the Tigers bring it back more often?

No. 3: White-Purple-White

The purple tops paired with white helmets and pants go much easier on the eyes than yellow.

LSU chose this uniform for its regular season finale over Oklahoma. The Tigers did not disappoint in knocking off a Sooners team that caused chaos in the SEC. The unique combination might be one that fans want eliminated, but it stands out from the rest of its alternates.

No. 2: Gold-White-Gold (Classic)

How could you not come back to the classic?

Its usual home uniform, LSU wore gold helmets and pants with a white top more than any other combo this year.

The Tigers chose their go-to kit for a neutral site clash with USC as well as both home and away games. They are one of the few teams that wear white as a primary home jersey.

However, this kit reminds LSU fans of tradition, and nothing says that better than classic white jerseys and gold helmets walking into Death Valley on a Saturday.

If there is one combination LSU should choose more often, it’s the gold helmet with white tops and pants. It wore the kit in its most complete win of the season, a 42-10 route of South Alabama.

The uniform highlights LSU’s color scheme without hitting you over the head with bright strokes of purple or gold. Purple numbers and trim tie the whole look together.
