A Buccaneers WR already wears Tom Brady’s number 12. Will he give it up?

Who’s wearing No. 12 in Tampa?

Tom Brady has reportedly agreed in principle to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after informing the New England Patriots he wouldn’t be back.

Thanks to artists — and the folks who work on Madden at EA Sports — we’ve already seen some renderings of Brady in a Bucs uniform, and … yeah, it’s as weird as you’d think it would be to see the QB of nearly two decades with the Pats in something other than a red, white and blue uniform.

But there’s a twist here: what number is Brady going to wear?

That question needs to be answered by his new teammate, wide receiver Chris Godwin.

Because he wears No. 12 at the moment, and Brady has worn that number his entire career.

First off, here’s what Brady looks like in the Bucs’ colors, via Madden and others:

And some people are wondering if Godwin will give up his number:

This is more complicated thank you think. Godwin’s Twitter handle is @CGtwelve, and I highly doubt a legend with a company called TB12 wouldn’t just give up his now-iconic number. We’ll find out soon enough.
