Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope landed the first big recruit of his tenure when center Malachi Moreno committed to the Wildcats. However, that commitment may have had a ripple effect with another Kentucky target in Eric Reibe.
Reibe was set to visit Pope and the Wildcats, but it appears that will no longer be occurring. On3’s Jacob Polacheck has reported that Reibe has canceled the visit and won’t re-schedule.

With Moreno on board, Reibe likely decided to head elsewhere. The Wildcats have targeted a number of other top recruits, including Jasper Johnson and Braylon Mullins, so Pope and his staff will concentrate on them moving forward.
Reibe is a four star center in the 2025 class, ranked as the number 45 overall player by 247sports. The seven-footer is their number four ranked center in the class. Big Blue Nation wishes Reibe the best wherever he winds up.
