It has become more of a common occurrence than a rarity that Los Angeles Chargers second-round rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey shows up in a big way in big games. On Saturday, McConkey proved once again to be the most reliable and explosive weapon in the Chargers’ arsenal in a must-win game as he lit up the New England Patriots all afternoon in a 40-7 win.

McConkey proved to be far too much to handle for any defensive back on New England’s roster. He hauled in eight catches for 94 yards and a pair of explosive touchdowns.
As the Chargers head to the playoffs, McConkey will potentially be the most important rookie in the postseason as the aerial assault of Los Angeles runs more or less through him. It’s fair to say at this point that coach Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers front office found themselves a steal in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
