Former Notre Dame tight end enters the transfer portal again

Good luck at finding a new home!

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and it looks like former Notre Dame tight end [autotag]Holden Staes[/autotag] is learning that the hard way.

After spending two seasons in South Bend, the Georgia native opted to transfer and landed with the Tennessee Volunteers. Both teams would end up making the College Football Playoff, but only one, the Irish, advanced to the quarterfinals.

While Staes had the same amount of catches he had the year prior with Notre Dame, he struggled to find the end zone with the Volunteers, registering just one after four in 2023.

With one year remaining, the 6-foot, 4-inch and 248-pound tight end will once again look to find another school that fits his playing style, as On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported that he has entered the transfer portal again.

Hopefully Staes finds what he’s looking for in his final collegiate season before a potential shot at the NFL.
