Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson says he was jogging on 48-yard TD run vs. Texans

Behind the dual-threat ability of quarterback Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens thumped the Houston Texans 31-2 on Christmas Day, taking control of the AFC North and putting themselves in a position to earn the No. 3 seed.

Jackson ran past Norfolk State head coach Michael Vick for the most rushing yards by a quarterback in NFL history. With 87 yards Wednesday, Jackson now has 6,110 career rushing yards, one more than Vick’s total.

With Baltimore up 17-2, Jackson put the game away in the third quarter, rushing 48 yards to the end zone without being touched. Jackson’s maximum speed on that run was 21.25 mph, the highest top speed of his career as a ball carrier.

After the game, when reporters asked about it, Jackson said that he “was jogging.”

Jackson overtook Vick in a season in which he has run the fewest times. Vick needed 143 games over 13 years to amass his total, while Jackson broke the record in 102 games over seven seasons.
