Colts RB Jonathan Taylor wins AFC Player of the Week Award

Following his performance against the Titans, Colts’ RB Jonathan Taylor won the AFC’s Player of the Week award.

Not surprisingly, Indianapolis Colts’ running back Jonathan Taylor was named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week following his performance on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Taylor would rush for 218 yards in the Colts’ Week 16 win, which was the second-highest single-game rushing total of his career. This performance from Taylor included touchdown runs of 65 yards and 70 yards, while he averaged 7.5 yards per rush and found the end zone three times on the ground.

Along with Taylor rushing for 218 yards, he also eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the season on his 65-yard touchdown run. He is now the fourth Colts’ running back in team history to rush for at least 1,000 yards in at least three separate seasons.

Anthony Richardson would also rush for 70 yards of his own, and as a team, the Colts set a new franchise record by totaling 335 rushing yards in their victory over the Titans.

Taylor is now the third Colts’ player to win an AFC Player of the Week award this season. Jaylon Jones would win the Defensive Player of the Week award at one point and Rigoberto Sanchez the Special Teams Player of the Week award.
