Texas A&M’s transfer portal ranking rises after latest EDGE commitments

Texas A&M’s transfer portal rankings steadily rose after landing two EDGE commits

Texas A&M’s transfer portal success continued just two days before Christmas, as the Aggies landed two defensive line commitments, starting with former Georgia Edge Samuel M’Pemba, followed by former Florida Edge T.J Searcy.

After landing former Pitt/Colorado Edge Dayon Hayes on Friday night, Coach Mike Elko has checked several key boxes with M’Pemba and Searcy now in the fold, but there’s still work to be done in the defensive interior to replace the loss of production after Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart and Shemar Turner declared for the NFL Draft.

One name to watch in the coming days is if North Carolina State transfer wide receiver KC Concepcion, who is coming off a visit to Texas A&M and will likely choose between the Aggies, Colorado, and Alabama.

With nine commitments from the portal, Texas A&M’s transfer portal rankings steadily rose to No. 6 in the standings, and when it’s all said and done, expect the Aggies to land more than half of the 28 players from last offseason.

Here are the Top 10 transfer portal rankings per 247Sports:

  1. Texas Tech (17 commits)
  2. LSU Tigers (13 commits)
