Damien Woody says he might take Bo Nix first overall in 2024 redraft

“Listen, if we were to redraft right now, Bo Nix might be my No. 1 guy,” Damien Woody said.

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix was selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. Which quarterbacks were selected ahead of him? Heisman winners Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels plus Drake Maye, Michael Penix and J.J. McCarthy. Outside of perhaps Daniels, Nix is performing better than the QBs taken ahead of him (although McCarthy has been sidelined).

Super Bowl champion Damien Woody appears to think so, too, going so far to state that he would draft Nix first if there was a re-draft. With 3,235 yards, 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, Nix helps make Woody’s case.

“Bo Nix has been playing lights-out football for the Denver Broncos,” Woody said on First Take, via ProFootballTalk.com. “Listen, if we were to redraft right now, Bo Nix might be my No. 1 guy.

“There are other quarterbacks with a higher ceiling, higher athletic profile than Bo Nix, but the one thing Bo Nix does, he takes care of the football. He’s mobile, he makes quick decisions and when you talk about playing in the National Football League, those are the attributes to me that mean the most if you’re trying to win a championship.”

Nix will get a chance to further prove Woody’s point and get the Broncos to 10 wins on Dec. 28 against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.
