Patriots gift Bills touchdown with botched lateral in loss

A backward pass by Drake Maye turned into a Bills touchdown

The New England Patriots saw a 14-0 lead evaporate in a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

The AFC East cellar dwellers helped the division leaders with a brutal mistake in the fourth quarter of the 24-21 defeat.

Trailing 17-14 in the fourth quarter, Drake May threw a backward pass/lateral that was blown up by Buffalo’s Taron Johnson. The live ball wound up in the end zone where Johnson recovered it for the touchdown.
