Seahawks elevate CB Artie Burns from practice squad

The roller coaster season for cornerback Artie Burns continues. On Saturday, the Seattle Seahawks elevated the veteran from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster. Burns was waived by the team last week, only to be re-signed to the practice squad two days later.

Now, Burns finds himself back on the active roster. Usually, when this happens he ends up being made inactive unless there is an injury or depth concern at cornerback. We at Seahawks Wire will be sure to update later this morning when the inactives list comes out.

Additionally, the Seahawks signed former Vikings quarterback Jaren Hall to the active roster off the practice squad. Hall was originally signed in early September, and has been with the organization since. Given Geno Smith’s knee injury, it makes sense to perhaps have an insurance option at the third string quarterback position behind Smith and Sam Howell.

The Seahawks will be kicking off against the Vikings today at 1:05 pm Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to follow @TheSeahawksWire and @KoleMusgrove23 for more live updates, analysis and highlights during the game!
