Huskers to host talented transfer corner in January

Jyaire Brown would give the Huskers depth in the secondary.

Nebraska football will have a talented cornerback visiting Lincoln, as former Ohio State Buckeye and LSU Tiger corner Jyaire Brown will be visiting on January 20. This was reported by multiple media outlets on Thursday.

Brown signed his letter of intent to play with the Buckeyes in 2021 and made an impact in the 2022 season, recording eight tackles and a fumble recovery. He played in four games in 2023 before entering the transfer portal at the end of the 2023 season. He spent last year with the LSU Tigers, recording three tackles.

According to the 247Sports rankings, Brown was the 30th-ranked corner in his class and the 11th-ranked player in his class from the state of Ohio.

The Huskers need corner depth for the future, as Tommi Hill declared for the NFL draft earlier this week. Brown could be an ideal target, as his speed and athleticism give new defensive backs coach Addison Williams some talented traits to work with.
