Report: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to start vs. Texans in Week 16

According to a report, Patrick Mahomes will be under center for the #Chiefs in Kansas City’s Week 16 matchup against the Houston #Texans.

According to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be under center during the defending Super Bowl champions’ Week 16 matchup against the Houston Texans on Saturday.

Mahomes sustained an ankle injury in Kansas City’s win over the Cleveland Browns earlier this week but was a full participant in all of the Chiefs’ practice sessions heading into their tilt against Houston.

Though the extent of Mahomes’ ankle injury is unclear, the reigning Super Bowl MVP was clearly in pain after leaving Sunday’s game, and needed to be replaced by veteran signal-caller Carson Wentz in the fourth quarter.

With Mahomes at the helm of Andy Reid’s offense, Kansas City has a much better chance to advance their regular season record to 14-1 against the Texans, which would move the Chiefs one step closer to securing the No. 1 seed for the AFC playoffs.

Stay tuned to see if Mahomes can put together a winning performance when Kansas City faces off against Houston on Saturday, December 21.
