Karate Combat 51 takes place Thursday at Airport Hangat at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

The preliminary card streams live on YouTube at 7 p.m. ET. The main card also streams live on YouTube, starting at 8:30 p.m. ET, topped by a vacant bantamweight championship bout between Arturo Vergara and Eoghan Chelmiah.

Bantamweight championship: Arturo Vergara vs. Eoghan Chelmiah

Arturo Vergara is undefeated in Karate Combat with a 4-0 record. He has TKO wins over Nathan Fought and Jesse Bazzi, a knockout of Joe Penafiel and a unanimous decsiion over Safarmamad Akhmadov. … Eoghan Chelmiah became the first Karate Combat bantamweight champion be defeating Ilies Mardhi in September 2021. At 7-2, Chelmiah enters on a two-fight win streak with knockouts of Maximo Nunez and Jordan Winski.

Middleweight: Cosmo Alexandre vs. Igor de Castañeda

Cosmo Alexandre makes his Karate Combat debut. Alexandre has competed in multiple combat sports throughout his career, including MMA under the Bellator and ONE Championship banners, and kickboxing and muay Thai. … Igor de Castañeda challenged for the Karate Combat middleweight title in his last outing, but came up short against Ross Levine. At 4-4 in Karate Combat, Castañeda has two knockouts, along with a TKO and a unanimous decision win.

UFC veterans competing at Karate Combat 51

Karate Combat 51 will feature a few UFC veterans that MMA fans are familiar with.

[autotag]Robelis Despaigne[/autotag], a 6-foot-7 heavyweight who turned heads with his size, makes his debut in Karate Combat against Dominik Jedrzejczyk in a heavyweight bout.

A pair of UFC veterans Rafael Alves and Khama Worthy clash on the main card in a catchweight contest.

Alves has won his first two Karate Combat fights, taking out a pair of fellow UFC veterans earlier this year. In February, he won a unanimous decision over Efrain Escudero, and viciously knocked out James Vick with a head kick in June. Worthy makes his Karate Combat debut in his fourth combat sports bout in 2024. He has gone 1-1 in MMA bouts and 1-0 in kickboxing.
