Browns officially end Nick Chubb’s season

Nick Chubb has been placed on IR as the Browns sign a TE to his roster spot

After breaking his foot, the Cleveland Browns have placed running back Nick Chubb back on Injured Reserve.

Leaving the game this past weekend in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Chubb was quickly ruled out. Head coach Kevin Stefanski then told the media after the game that Chubb had been diagnosed with a broken foot. To Chubb’s advantage heading into next offseason, however, he will not need surgery.

This means Chubb will have plenty of time to heal up and rehab before the Browns start their offseason programming and should be 100 percent healthy for training camp. Not putting the cart in front of the horse, however, the Browns will need to negotiate a new contract with Chubb as he is set to hit free agency this offseason.

Chubb has stated he wants to retire a member of the Browns, so hopefully we have not seen the last of Cleveland’s Batman in the brown and orange.

The Browns have signed tight end Brenden Bates off of the New York Jets’ practice squad to fill Chubb’s roster spot.
