Huskers hosted transfer portal target for visit Tuesday

The Huskers hosted Andrew Marshall on Tuesday.

Nebraska football hosted a defensive back transfer portal target on Tuesday. Former Idaho defensive back Andrew Marshall came to Lincoln for a visit per On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

Marshall entered the transfer portal this week and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

He showed his versatility for Idaho last season. He recorded 66 tackles, as well as eight pass breakups and a forced fumble.

The corner can also return kicks. He ran back a kick and a punt for a touchdown during the 2024 campaign. He first came onto the scene as a freshman and reported 21 tackles and five past deflections.

Marshall’s coverage ability, as well as his returning ability, certainly make him an intriguing target for the program. Nebraska football struggled with depth in the secondary last season, and a big piece of that depth will no longer be in Lincoln as Tommi Hill declared for the NFL draft on Tuesday morning.

The Huskers have certainly been busy trying to make additions in the transfer portal. Marshall would certainly be strong one and fill areas of need at both corner and kick returner.
