The Minnesota Vikings won’t kickoff till Monday night in Week 15 but they are already winners thanks to, of all teams, the Green Bay Packers. The Packers Sunday night matchup between them and the Seahawks was a one-sided win for the Vikings’ division rival.
The result saw the Packers winning and giving the Seahawks a pivotal loss that gave the Vikings a playoff birth as a wildcard team, at the very least.
The Lions also suffered a loss on Sunday, which means while the wild card is a nice security blanket for the team, the NFC North division is very in contention for them. With a win on Monday night, the Vikings would be tied record-wise at 12-2.
Both teams have three games remaining, and if they win out heading into Week 18, we could be looking at an NFC North title game. The Vikings control their own destiny, and the next step in that journey is to go against the Bears on the national stage of Monday Night Football.
