Could longtime assistant Vince Marrow be leaving Kentucky?

Kentucky football assistant coach Vince Marrow has reportedly received an offer to join North Carolina.

Kentucky football had a disappointing 2024 season, followed by the defection of a number of players in the transfer portal. Now, they could be set to lose longtime assistant coach Vince Marrow.

The college football world was shocked recently when Bill Belichick accepted the head coaching job at North Carolina. His hiring gives the Tarheels instant credibility in recruiting, and will attract some good assistant coaches. Marrow might be one of them, per a report from FootballScoop.

Belichick and Marrow have known each other for a while, and the former Super Bowl winning head coach has apparently reached out to the Wildcats assistant for a position on his staff. Marrow is a good coach, and a terrific recruiter, so it would be a huge blow to Kentucky if he leaves.

Several other teams have courted Marrow over the years, but so far, he has stayed put. Fans will be hoping he once again chooses Lexington over another offer.
