On Thursday, the SEC released its freshman all-SEC list, and standout Texas A&M freshman punter Tyler White made the cut.
White entered the 2024 season in competition with a few other punters to take the starting job. When the season started, he had secured the spot and had an excellent year. The two-time SEC Special Teams Player of the Week was a wizard at controlling where his punts landed with 20 of his 33 kicks in SEC play landed inside the 20-yard line.
He finished the season in the top 10 in multiple punting categories in the SEC and top 25 in the nation with a 44.5 average per punt. White was one of the bright spots on special teams and got better as the year progressed eventually earning him a place as a Ray Guy Award Semifinalist and a Freshman All-SEC selection.
Congratulations to Tyler and we look forward to his future success in Aggieland.
