Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins feels as good as gone and has for a while — that’s not a secret or surprise to fans.
But it sounds like Joe Burrow has other plans.
Speaking with reporters after the win over the Dallas Cowboys, Burrow put out a stunner when asked about Higgins’ future with the team.
“I’m confident that we’re gonna be able to do what it takes to get Tee back,” Burrow said, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. “I know that I’m going to do what it takes to get him back.
Reporters followed up by asking why he sounds so confident about this with a simple “we’ll see.”
Fans can probably read this one of two ways. One, Burrow knows something the rest of us don’t.
Or two, he’s now applying some pressure on the Bengals with his platform in a very public manner.
Either way, it sure feels like the conversation around Higgins just took a pretty dramatic swing.
