Another intriguing cornerback option for Texas A&M just entered the transfer portal

Former Iowa State and Ball State cornerback Myles Norwood looks like a solid option to fill out Texas A&M’s 2025 cornerback rotation

Texas A&M’s secondary during the 2024 season was much deeper than the unit’s disastrous performance the season prior. Still, the injury to veteran nickel cornerback Tyreek Chappell looked like too much to overcome by the end of the season.

However, several bright spots, including the emergence of former Kansas State cornerback Will Lee III, kept the secondary afloat. They were not the main reason for the Aggie’s 1-3 finish to the year.

With the news that Will Lee will return for the 2025 season, the Aggies still need at least two cornerbacks from the transfer portal to join Andonyss Currie and Deyjhon Pettaway from A&M’s 2025 recruiting class.

While it’s still early, an intriguing option has hit the market. Former Iowa State and Ball State cornerback Myles Norwood has entered the portal and looks like a perfect fit in coach Mike Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman’s defensive system.

Norwood’s 6-1 frame and impressive length showed up on the field during his first full collegiate season with the Cardinals, finishing the 2024 season with 38 tackles, 22 solo tackles, and five pass deflections while earning a 70.7 coverage grade per Pro Football Focus.

Even better, Will Lee III is well acquainted with Norwood’s skillset, as both players hail from the Saint Louis, Missouri high school circuit.
