The Pittsburgh Steelers activated cornerback Cory Trice Jr. to the 53-man roster from injured reserve. Today was the deadline to do so to avoid him being sidelined for the rest of the season.
Trice hasn’t played since suffering a hamstring injury in the Week 3 L.A. Chargers contest. He had a critical interception in Pittsburgh’s Week 2 victory over the Denver Broncos.
Trice, drafted by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL draft, spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve after tearing his ACL in training camp.
Trice was recently selected as the Steelers 2024 Ed Block Courage Award winner, given to a player who has shown courage either coming back from an injury or a life-altering situation.
The Steelers waived running back Jonathan Ward on Wednesday in preparation for Trice’s reverting to the roster.
