The NCAA Transfer Portal continues to see names enter it each passing day. The newest departure from the Iowa Hawkeyes is James Resar and his entry into the transfer portal.
Resar, who came to Iowa as a quarterback this year, was moved to receiver late in the year. The announcement of his intent to enter the transfer portal came from his X account.
“I have filed my paperwork to enter the transfer portal. I will have 4 years of eligibility remaining,” Resar posted.

A product of Bishop Kenny High School in Fernandina Beach, Florida, the 6-foot-4 quarterback did not see time for the Iowa Hawkeyes in his true freshman season.
Out of high school, Resar was a four-star recruit and the No. 23 overall athlete in the class of 2024, per 247Sports.
Resar is also known for his speed. In high school, he earned four varsity letters in track and was a 100-meter district champion with a personal best of 10.67 seconds.
Schools to keep an eye on Resar that offered him out of high school include Georgia Tech, Indiana, North Carolina, Toledo, Georgia Southern, Florida A&M, Tulane, Wake Forest, and Western Kentucky.
James Resar’s departure, one day after Cade McNamara’s, leaves Iowa three quarterbacks on the roster, Brendan Sullivan, Jackson Stratton, and Marco Lainez.
