Four-star wide receiver Derek Meadows made his flip official on Wednesday, leaving LSU’s class and committing to Alabama. The flip was no surprise after Meadows spent weeks exploring other options.
Last week, On3 and 247Sports both reported Meadows was trending in the direction of the Crimson Tide.
LSU has been on the wrong end of more flips than it would like in recent weeks, but Meadows’ decision should be the last of them.
Meadows committed to LSU in July but didn’t visit LSU after making his pledge. That wasn’t a good sign for the Tigers as Meadows kept popping up at other schools around the country.
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Meadows is the No. 105 overall recruit in the country. 247Sports is high on Meadows, ranking the Bishop Gorman product as the No. 7 wide receiver in the class.
It’s a loss for LSU as the Tigers swung and missed at a few top receivers in the country, but again, this was expected for weeks.
