The Miami Dolphins are hoping to get starting cornerback Kendall Fuller back in the lineup in Week 14 after a concussion sidelined him for three weeks.
“He is still in protocol, but optimistic just based upon conversations with the experts and him,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday. “Optimistic that he’ll be out there this game, but we’ll see how the protocol progresses.”
Fuller, 29, missed a game earlier in the year due to a concussion and suffered a second one in the Dolphins’ Week 10 win against the Los Angeles Rams. In his absence, Miami has largely relied on undrafted rookie Storm Duck to play in his place.
While Duck has played well in his rookie campaign, getting Fuller back would be a boost for the Dolphins defense, especially after both Cam Smith and Kader Kohou suffered injuries Thursday.
Fuller, who was signed by the Dolphins as a free agent earlier this year, hasn’t allowed 50 receiving yards in a game so far this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
