No. 8 Tennessee (10-2, 6-2 SEC) defeated Vanderbilt (6-6, 3-5 SEC), 36-23, on Saturday at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Rankings reflect the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Vols are also ranked No. 8 by the College Football Playoff committee. Entering Week 14, Tennessee is projected as a No. 9 seed and would play at No. 8 seed Georgia in the first-round of the College Football Playoff.
Against Vanderbilt, redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava completed 18-of-26 passing attempts for 257 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He also totaled 42 rushing yards on six attempts.
Junior running back Dylan Sampson totaled 178 rushing yards on 25 attempts for the Vols.
