Could LSU target four-star QB recruit with coaching change at UNC?

Can this QB be LSU’s replacement for Bryce Underwood?

When Bryce Underwood flipped to Michigan, LSU was left without a quarterback in its 2025 signing class. Underwood is the top QB in the country and LSU put everything it had into that basket.

And with signing day fast approaching, there aren’t many options out there. But we could see one quarterback on the board soon thanks to a coaching change at UNC.

The Tar Heels fired Mack Brown on Tuesday. Major head coaching changes always lead to recruiting shakeups. It’s hard to hold a class together through a coaching transition and major programs are sure to check in on UNC commits.

One of those recruits is four-star QB Bryce Baker. According to a report from Rivals, LSU could enter the fold.

Baker’s father told Rivals that LSU and Penn State could be candidates for future visits.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Baker is the No. 10 QB in the class and the No. 74 overall prospect. If LSU wants to sign a high school QB in 2025, there’s not a better option left.

Baker isn’t Underwood, but he’s a blue-chip recruit and a Power Four caliber player.

LSU’s class is still one of the best in the country as we approach the finish line, butting adding a quarterback after losing Underwood would give LSU a complete group.

This is one to watch down the stretch.
