The stage is set for the final week of the regular season in college football, and we were gifted with some complete and utter chaos in the weekend leading up to it.
Seven of the top 20 teams in the nation ended up suffering losses, with the Indiana Hoosiers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, BYU Cougars, Colorado Buffaloes, Texas A&M Aggies, and Army Black Knights going down.
What it’s left us with is a College Football Playoff picture that looks worlds different than it did a week ago.
For the Oregon Ducks, it was an opportune week to have a bye, as they now enter Week 14 against the Washington Huskies rested and ready for the stretch run. Before that, though, here’s a look at how the playoff rankings shook out on Tuesday night.

Should the Ducks hold onto the No. 1 seed with a win in the Big Ten Championship Game on December 7, they would be slated to play the winner of the No. 8 vs. No. 9 game, so either the Georgia Bulldogs or Tennessee Volunteers.
How many teams in College Football Playoff 2024?
For the first time, there will be 12 teams participating in the College Football Playoffs. There are five automatic bids for each of the Power Four conference champions and one to the highest-ranked Group of Five champion. The remaining seven slots are given to the seven at-large teams.
