Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) knows what’s at stake on Saturday night, as the Aggies will host the No. 3 Texas Longhorns for the first time in 13 seasons, as the Lone Star Showdown has been renewed.
However, the rivalry has never had the postseason implications this game presents, as Alabama’s loss to Oklahoma has re-opened the door for the Aggies to earn a spot in the SEC Championship Game with a win over the Longhorns, even after losing to Auburn in quadruple overtime in Week 13.
While Texas comes in 10-1 with one of the country’s best passing offenses and defensive secondaries, the Aggies have the home-field advantage inside what should be a sold-out Kyle Field and the loudest the Stadium has been all year.
For those unaware, Texas A&M’s media time announced on Tuesday that the game will be a “Maroon out,” meaning every Aggie in attendance must wear a maroon shirt, pants, and shoes, if applicable. Maroon pants are a lot to ask, but you get the point.
No. 19 Texas A&M will host No. 3 Texas on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 pm. CT. The game will air on ABC.
