Dolphins activate G Isaiah Wynn off IR, waive veteran OL

The Dolphins swapped out offensive linemen on the active roster Monday.

The Miami Dolphins officially added guard Isaiah Wynn back into the fold Monday, activating the veteran offensive lineman off the injured reserve.

To make room on the 53-man roster, the Dolphins waived sixth-year veteran offensive lineman Lester Cotton, who has been with the team since 2022.

Wynn, 28, is a former New England Patriots first-round pick who joined the Dolphins on a one-year deal in 2023. He earned starting left guard duties, but suffered a season-ending quad injury in his seventh game with Miami.

The Dolphins re-signed Wynn in the 2024 offseason to another one-year deal, but he’s been unavailable as he continued to rehab his quad injury. Last week, Dolphins offensive line coach Butch Barry said the team has been pleased with the progress Robert Jones has made and will stick with him as the starter instead of Wynn.

Cotton, 28, began his NFL career with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019 and was signed to the Dolphins’ practice squad during the 2022 season. If he clears waivers this week, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Cotton rejoins the Miami practice squad.
