For the No. 117 matchup between the two schools, the Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks will see a national audience as the arch-rivals are set to play on NBC on Saturday, Nov. 30, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. PST, as the Big Ten announced on Tuesday.
While the stakes aren’t nearly as high as they were for their two matchups in 2023, there’s still a lot more than just bragging rights on the line in the game. Coach Dan Lanning and the top-ranked Ducks are looking to finish off an undefeated regular season before facing off with one of Ohio State, Penn State, or Indiana in the Big Ten championship game.
On the other hand, the coach Jedd Fisch-led Huskies are looking to show off that they’ll be a team to be reckoned with for a long time. Fisch said that he isn’t going to announce his starting quarterback before the game as he chooses between fifth-year senior Will Rogers and true freshman Demond Williams Jr. to close out the regular season.
“I’m going to use the bye week for that,” Fisch said after Washington’s win over UCLA, “And certainly announce that at the right time, or not, and let them defend two quarterbacks, I guess, for those 13 days.”
With promising young players all over the field, the former Arizona head coach has shown plenty of promising signs of long-term success in his first year at the helm but hasn’t shown that his team can win on the road just yet. All five of Washington’s losses have come away from Husky Stadium, and heading into Autzen Stadium as the Ducks gear up to make a push for a national championship won’t be easy.
