Nebraska football got the first score of the game on Saturday afternoon against the Wisconsin Badgers. Backup quarterback Heinrich Haarberg was able to find the end zone via a rushing play to give the Huskers a 7-0 lead.
The drive was set up with some stellar throws from Dylan Raiola. It was started with a 45-yard kickoff return by wide receiver Jacory Barney Jr. Barney’s athleticism and speed set the tone for the rest of the drive. Running back Emmett Johnson was able to provide contributions in both the receiving and running game. His contributions set up Haarberg for the score.
The drive took six plays, 55 yards, and 2:44 off the clock.
It was quite the start to the game for a Huskers squad that needed to get the offense going early. Wisconsin was able to answer on the ensuing drive, showing that Saturday’s game was not going to be a tight defensive battle early in the first half.
