Clemson football continues to build its 2026 recruiting class with the addition of 3-star prospect Tayveon Wilson. The Huntington Prep (WV) standout announced his commitment during a Thursday ceremony at his high school. Wilson, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound athlete, is a high school wide receiver but has been recruited by Clemson as a tight end.
Wilson, the Tigers’ first tight end offer in the 2026 cycle, impressed at Clemson’s summer camp in June and visited campus most recently for the Stanford game in October. Other schools vying for his commitment included Penn State, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.
Ranked as the No. 2 prospect in West Virginia by 247Sports, Wilson is a multi-sport athlete, excelling in baseball and basketball in addition to football. He joins a Clemson 2026 class that now features four commitments, including quarterbacks Tait Reynolds and Brock Bradley, and 4-star athlete Shavar Young Jr.
Currently, Clemson’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked 11th in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings and 16 in On3’s Industry Rankings.
