USC dealing with flu ‘outbreak’ days before UCLA rivalry game

This isn’t good for USC.

The UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans face off in a rivalry game on Saturday in LA. Unfortunately, the year has not been great for either the Bruins or the Trojans.

To make matters worse for USC, Lincoln Riley mentioned the team is dealing with a flu bug going into the game, per Ryan Kartje of The Los Angeles Times.

“Lincoln Riley sounded pretty sick today when he spoke with reporters, while several USC players missed practice. Riley said the team’s flu outbreak got “a little bit” worse early this week, but he’s hopeful today was the peak of the outbreak.”

It’s a tough blow for USC, who is coming off a close win over Nebraska in Week 12. USC is 5-5 on the year after a 3-1 start, but things have turned the wrong way for USC.

If the flu bug gets worse, it could cause some issues for USC on Saturday.
